A CSC pilot allows employers with outdoor and field-based operations to evaluate how training reinforcement and safety communication can support their teams during periods of extreme heat and wildfire smoke.


The pilot is designed to be practical, limited in scope, and low friction—so you can assess usefulness without adding systems, complexity, or long-term commitments.


What a Pilot Includes

During a pilot, CSC provides:

  • Training reinforcement through short, plain-language instructional videos delivered by phone text
  • Heat & Smoke Safety Alerts delivered by phone text that reinforce training concepts when conditions change
  • Access to certificates of completion and training records for documentation purposes

Pilot scope can be limited by region, crew group, or time period, depending on operational needs.


What a Pilot Is Not

To set clear expectations, a CSC pilot does not replace employer safety programs or decision-making.

A CSC pilot does not:

  • Monitor worksites or employee exposure
  • Assess site-specific conditions
  • Issue directives or determine operational actions
  • Determine or guarantee Cal/OSHA compliance outcomes

Employers retain responsibility for evaluating conditions, implementing controls, and making compliance decisions.

Pilot requests typically come from:
